An experienced Florida DUI attorney knows better than to advise people to operate under the two drink rule when we are determining whether we can drive home following a celebration. Say we were at a friend’s baby shower, and had a couple of cups out of the rum punch bowl. We’re safe to drive home, right? Unfortunately, this legendary two-drink rule has landed many drivers in jail, incredulously finding them charged with a Florida DUI. Ask almost any police officer and they will tell you they’ve heard virtually every variation of the “But officer I only had a couple of beers,” refrain from people who subsequently blew a .08, rendering them over the legal limit. And, by the way, not realizing you are over the limit is never a valid defense for a DUI.

Forget the Two Drink Rule Says Florida DUI Attorneys

The rate at which alcohol concentrates in an individual’s blood is dependent upon the following: gender, weight, percentage of body fat, fitness level and tolerance level based on how often they consume alcohol. Based on all these differences, a 200 pound man, in excellent physical shape who consumes alcohol several times a week is going to have a far different BAC reading after two drinks than a 110-pound woman who sits behind a desk, never exercises and rarely drinks. Also take into consideration the amount of time which has elapsed since you had the last drink. Based only on the weight of the above two examples, the man will have an approximate .03 BAC, while the woman will have between a .06 and .07—dangerously close to the legal limit of .08. Factor in all the other variables, and those numbers may be even more disparate.

How the Body Metabolizes Alcohol

The only variable which is relatively consistent regardless of the physiological differences is the rate at which the body metabolizes and eliminates alcohol form the body—on average, .015 per hour. A simple example is that if a person had a BAC of 0.15, it would take ten hours for the alcohol to be completely gone from their system. Because sleep has absolutely no effect on how quickly alcohol leaves your body, assuming you left the bar at 2:30 a.m. with that BAC of 0.15 and somehow made it home safely, slept for four hours, and went to work at 7:00 a.m., you could very well still be over the legal limit even though you no longer “felt” drunk. Forget all the other urban myths you’ve heard about drinking lots of water, coffee, or caffeinated soda or eating a big meal in order to sober up faster. The only thing which affects your BAC is time.

Florida DUI Lawyers The Alcohol Variation in Two Drinks

Aside from considering your weight, sex and other variables, you must also consider how much actual alcohol was in the drinks you consumed. Although the standard drink is considered to be one regular-sized bottle of beer, one five-ounce glass or wine, or one mixed drink which has no more than one and a half ounces of 80 proof alcohol, that “standard” does not always apply. Some bars operate on a “free-pour” system which simply means the bartender eyeballs the amount of alcohol which goes into your drink. While veteran bartenders come remarkably close to the one and a half ounces, others could pour as much as double that amount in one drink. If you are drinking a mixture at a friend’s house, you have little way of knowing how much alcohol is actually in your cup of rum punch, other than how it makes you feel.

The bottom line is that should you decide to drive after you’ve only “had a couple,” you may find yourself facing serious DUI charges which could significantly alter your future. It’s extremely important that you immediately hire an experienced Florida DUI attorney who can be your advocate and defend your rights in the coming months. And remember—telling an officer that you’ve only had a couple of beers can come back to haunt you should you be arrested, so exercise your right to remain silent until you’ve contacted an attorney.

Going through a divorce can be quite painful and can cause you to suffer a great degree of stress and anxiety. Aside from the emotional burden that comes along with a divorce, the issue of division of marital property causes additional pain and financial uncertainty. It is therefore very important that you get a good divorce lawyer to make sure that your interests would be fully protected. There are many excellent divorce attorneys in the country that would be able to help you reach a desirable conclusion. If you live in Broward County in Florida, you can definitely find a good Broward divorce lawyer who can ensure that your future, particularly on the financial aspect, would not be jeopardized.

In a divorce proceeding, the issues involved are not centered only on the marriage itself. If you have children in that marriage, particularly young kids, then the issue of who would take custody of them can also be a subject of discussion. If you have a business or own a great deal of assets, there is a high possibility that the subject of who owns what, would definitely be taken up. This is especially true if the business or properties were acquired during the marriage.

Naturally, you would want to get what you believe you deserve in a divorce settlement, right? For instance, if you feel that your participation in the business was the reason why it is thriving, then it is only proper that you defend your interest in it. For sure, you would not want to hand it over to someone, who might put the business’ future at risk, even if that someone used to be your spouse.

In the case of properties, especially those acquired because of your major contribution or participation, it is only fair that you get what you rightly deserve. The main objective of a good Broward divorce lawyer is to help you get through divorce proceedings that will allow you to keep as much as of your property as possible. These Broward County legal eagles can help you retain those properties that have a high net worth, or are unique and valuable.

Some examples of these properties are:

<![endif]-->

Motorcycles are especially susceptible to hazards which come in the form of changes in the surfaces of the roadways. Motorcycles which have thinner tires have an even greater risk as they are considered more unstable. Roadway hazards can bring down even the most experienced motorcyclist, causing them to lose control of their bike and veer off the road or even to slide into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Motorcyclists who have suffered injuries as a result of an accident caused by a road hazard will want to consult an experienced Atlanta auto accident attorney who can help prove responsibility for the hazard.

Potholes in the Roads

Temporary roadway repairs are often responsible for surface breaks in the pavement known as potholes. This occurs when the road construction is done in stages and the construction crews temporarily resurface a portion of a road with weak materials, intending to replace them later on. These temporary and inferior substances can crack soon after they are repaired, leaving broken or loose edges of road surface. Other causes of potholes are simple wear and tear of the roadways.

The problem with potholes is that while they present little concern to automobile drivers, they can be responsible for causing serious motorcycle accidents. The primary key to determining liability when a motorcyclist has had an accident with injuries resulting from a pothole is to determine how long the pothole existed. The length of time the problem has been in existence determines whether the failure to repair it has presented an unreasonable danger to motorcycle riders. Speak with a Georgia auto accident attorney about your case.

Rough Roads or Gravel on Pavement

Road disrepair can lead to rough, bumpy roads which can be very hazardous to motorcycle riders. Construction work and resurfacing efforts also lead to uneven and rough roads which cause a motorcycle to crash. Gravel can be potentially one of the trickiest road hazards for a motorcyclist to navigate, especially when the cycle rounds a corner. Excessive speed on a gravel road can also be responsible for a motorcycle accident, especially if the road is winding or steep. Edge breaks can occur during construction when the two traffic lanes are different heights—while this is barely noticeable in an automobile, an unsuspecting motorist can end up having a serious accident because of the edge break.

Hitting an Animal

While hitting a deer or elk can be a serious issue for an automobile driver, hitting even a small animal such as a rabbit can throw a motorcycle completely off balance. Swerving to miss a small animal—or a larger one—can also cause the cyclist to skid off the road, potentially hitting a car or a fixed object. Should the driver of a car hit a deer it will likely cause damage but probably not serious injuries, while a motorcycle rider hitting a deer stands a chance of incurring serious or fatal injuries. Speak with an Atlanta car accident attorney about your claim today.

Slick Surfaces as a Cause of Motorcycle Accidents

Like most other road hazards, slippery surfaces are much more dangerous for motorcycles than for cars due to the relative instability of a motorcycle as well as the smaller, lighter size. Slick surfaces are even more dangerous when the biker is engaged in a turn, and any of the following debris or surface can cause the road to be slick: leaves, trolley tracks, certain painted surfaces, anti-freeze or oil, rain or even mud and oil. The first half of a rainstorm is also considered a very dangerous, very slick time for a motorcycle rider.

When to Get Help

You may have a valid claim against the public agency responsible for maintaining the roadway if you suffered injuries resulting from an accident caused by a road hazard. Don’t try to go it alone, however—choose a highly experienced Georgia car accident attorney who has an extensive background in motorcycle accident recovery. You will likely need help with medical bills, lost wages and other issues related to your accident and it’s important that you have an advocate in your corner during the process.

When in Rome do what the Romans do, and when in Augusta be sure to follow the protocol that is used by individuals in Augusta. This is better known by an Augusta auto accident attorney who realize that accidents takes more than hospitalization and medical care but also includes such things as a therapy of the spine and trauma which usually come with accidents but usually neglected by many. It is worth noting that there are other things that may be brought about by accidents which may not be direct but which have great

effects on the individuals. A good Augusta personal injury attorney must understand

all this. The major question, however, is how do I know who is the best Augusta

auto accident lawyer?

There are several things that one must look at before deciding which lawyer should represent him or her. These include the number of cases the lawyer has handled in Georgia and mostly within Augusta and how many the lawyer has won. It should be clear to anyone wishing to hire an attorney for such a procedure is that failure of the attorney would mean loosing compensation although one has suffered from the accident. If you need justice, do not take chances, take the best Augusta auto accident lawyer and be assured

of a secure future for you and your family. Accidents could change the lives of

people in the family but getting a good Augusta auto accident lawyer could also

mean that life will change for the better. An important thing is that the

lawyer must be committed to getting justice for his client. If the lawyer does

not compromise anything for the compensation and well being of the client, this

is the best one to represent you incase of an auto accident in Augusta Georgia.

For one to be a good and effective Columbus personal injury attorney, he must understand the policies and mechanics of the insurance companies in this locality. According to the contracts in most insurance companies, one can only seek compensation if he is found to have less than 50% fault in an auto accident, and, therefore, insurers hire investigators whose role is to ensure that some of the blames for fault are laid down to you so that you have more than 50% fault, and thus do not qualify for compensation. If a lawyer does not understand this, there will be a hard time to get their clients compensated. One the other

hand, lawyers who know how the insurance companies work will take to task the investigators so that the unethical and unprofessionalism of what they do in burdening you with the fault are unearthed. There is nothing better to recuperate from an accident knowing that you will not need to worry about anything since someone else has taken the liberty of checking out everything for you.

A good Columbus auto accident attorney will have his own investigators who will checkout everything out about the auto accident, he will work with the forensic department to ensure that he has all the information required and will also work with medical and health professionals so that he can file everything

for compensation. If one does not have all these qualities he is not the best. Remember

that the best are better than the rest and they will never rest until they nest

your justice.

When you have been charged with a driving under the influence, you should contact an attorney immediately. Florida DUI laws are very strict. These laws provide for a fine of not less than $500 for a first offense. Contacting Jacksonville DUI lawyers as soon as you have been arrested for a DUI can be very beneficial for a number of reasons.

A Jacksonville DUI conviction

Drivers who have had a previous DUI conviction face a number of penalties including high fines, loss of license and in some cases jail time. Even a driver who has never been convicted of drunk driving may be facing jail time. In all cases, it is important to understand what steps to take to find and hire a Jacksonville DUI lawyer.

Asking for referrals

Many people will benefit from asking for a referral from a friend or a family member. It is important to remember that drunk driving is considered a criminal offense so the lawyer will need to have criminal experience.

If it is not possible to find someone to refer a drunk driving lawyer, then your next option is to search the Internet. Regardless of how you find the right Jacksonville DUI attorneys, it is important that you understand that each case is different and what may be effective for one defendant may not be right for every defendant. That means that you should make sure to ask the right questions too.

What questions to ask

When interviewing a drunk driving attorney, it is crucial to ask the right questions. Jacksonville DUI lawyers should be familiar with the bonding process, blood alcohol level tests and their failures as well as the court process. Ask the DUI lawyer what experience they have handling first time convictions, additional convictions and find out what their success rate is.

When interviewing a Jacksonville DUI lawyer ask the following questions:

How frequently do you handle DUI cases?

What is your success rate for DUI cases?

How do you handle breathalyzer testing?

How do you deal with license suspensions?

How often do you settle charges outside of court?

Hiring a Jacksonville DUI attorney matters

It is crucial that as soon as you have been charged with a DUI charge that you hire an attorney. Once you have hired a Jacksonville DUI attorney you should refer all calls from the police department to your attorney. Always keep in mind that anything you say to the police without the benefit of an attorney can be used against you in court. Avoid saying anything that could result in self-incrimination.

DUI convictions can have numerous repercussions including loss of freedom, the loss of a job and possibly jail time. It is crucial for anyone charged with a DUI to contact a Jacksonville DUI lawyer as soon as possible. In addition to heavy fines, community service and the possible loss of your license to drive, there are other consequences. Drivers who have been convicted of driving under the influence may face jail time and be required to report for probation, take driving classes and perform community service. Make sure that your rights are protected if you are charged with drunk driving by calling a Jacksonville DUI lawyer.
